anodizing vs powder coating

Post by Carnivorous »

My Bulldog black ops riser and mainframe are powder coated.

At first I wasn't crazy about it but after shooting it for a bit I am OK with it for now.

I'm sure it's a more cost effective to powder coat vs anodizing but I do wish Excalibur would stick to anodizing as it is a much more durable finish..

It is a good candidate for a top deck Polish and refinishing with good Ole anodizing... :)

My experiences in the auto and motorcycle world say powder coat on a bow is not even close to anodizing.l would rather have the dip or whatever they used on the camo matrix bows rather than the powder coat. The anodize still looks like new on my old well used metal ibex. Why change to "chippy" powder coat?

Is powder coating only specific to new bulldog models or has it been used on the Micro 355 to get the dark black color on the riser and rail ?

I hope not, as I have 2 Micro 355's.

So far it's just on the BD models. The Micro 355 is still anodized but probably not for long..
