Laser Ranging Sight

Post by IronNoggin »

How hard could it be to transfer this kind of technology over and into a crossbow scope?

I would be REALLY interested if they could!!

Wow that is slick Nog and I can tell you that I would stand in line to have scope with those features. $$ within reason of course.

I saw that price, can’t imagine what a scope with that technology would cost.

That would be a great addition to any excal, in the form of a scope. Give it a few years and they will have it for us. Hopefully the price will come down too. If I was still shooting my SwitchBackXT I might be tempted to buy one.

What prevents that from being adapted now?
Mount seems like a problem. What else? Switch could be adapted. I don't know how bow speed is accommodated but crossbows have drop like verticals although maybe not as much

I thought it did talk a little about the programing draw length arrow weight speed of bow etc.

I totally agree - should be easy to adapt to crossbow hunting

bolt/broadhead total weight and fps of crossbow -make an adaptable rail mount

bit pricey --

the only down side i see is a lot more hunters are going to start flinging shots at longer distances - especially in wide open areas

Perhaps not a lot.
BUT I greatly prefer a scope over those kind of sights.
With this now out there, I would be downright surprised if a few of the scope companies ain't payin' attention...

Here's Hoping...

I have never really done any hunting with a red dot scope. I have a vortex on one of my rifles but I also prefer a scope for my hunting. At crossbow ranges it might not be a problem for me. I would just have to try one. My eyes get worse every year...
