Boofests of the past

Post by Doe Master »

Thought this might be entertaining to give those whom have not been fortunate to attend one yet .
Give one story without naming names of a humorous or memorable moment at Boofest unless they are no longer with us .
I will start .
There was this individual whom we had raffles for come to the event . They came dressed for the occasion looking their best . She the center of attention that day . :D

Six big guys stuffed a 400lb log inside my trailer then threatened to destroy my back of my trailer with potatoes cannons on the way out! No where else to put the log by myself when I got home so I stuck it in a flower bed. JESHHHH!

Here is the proof of what went on that day!

Even wore the rubber right off my rims on the way home as you can see in picture!

I won't mention any names here.
At the end of one Boofest, 2 friends came to me like scared rabbits. They said they had a problem. I asked what could be such a big issue that you guys are acting like this? Well, one went to the glove box to check for his passport and was faced with a loaded 38 revolver (handguns in vehicles are a big, big no, no here in Canada  )!
I told them to remove the cylinder from the frame and put them in different places (not the glove box) and hope that no one checked their vehicle and when home was reached, give me a call to tell me everything is ok.
There are sooooo many funny stories! :D The first that come to mind are related to pink underwear and some related to blowing up bows!

That was my favorite and is actually one of my most cherished life memories. :D

A small group of us were enjoying the 3D course and, as sometimes happens, we were all carrying on about shooting, hunting, broadheads, equipment...you all get the picture and know how it goes. Well, the most experienced crossbow expert (literally) in our group was up next and shooting his highly modified compound crossbow. He took careful aim and we were all watching the X ring because that's what he always hits. Upon pulling the trigger we hear a loud bang and there are limbs and rockers and strings everywhere. The shooter is still standing, maintaining perfect shooting form, holding the stock to his shoulder and looking through his scope. The lesson learned....always orient your moon nocks correctly or things can get very exciting very quickly! 8)

I recall at one the the earlier Boofests a certain warranty repair guy from "O-hi-ya" didn't give much forethought to sleeping arrangements and ended up sleeping on a picnic table. :-)

HAHAHA seen TMP post and checked and the post was not what I was expecting.

What people don't know about the log story is we went a couple days early on Don's invite. My wife went through Don's entire wood pile (for hours) for the weekend camp fires and wanted to bring it all home to carve. Don's wife spotted the log in the bush and Don dug it out with the tracker for Wendy. Because of that we had campfire wood for the weekend. Wife got sick and has not carved it yet but the past 3 months she started carving again.

Make the best out of today because you do not know what can happen tomorrow!
