my black bulldog\Micro has the powder coated mainframe. I have to say I'm not a big fan of PC but so far I have zero MF wear on my string. I was going to send it for polishing and anodizing but I'll just leave it the way it is.... :)
That bow looks awesome................just sayin'

SO if I was thinking of doing something like this to my rail.....what prep steps do I need to do? What finish is on the rail from the factory?

Ceracote has a recommended minimum finish that they need to acheive for optimum adhesion. Your installer would do what is needed to get there, if anything, and away you go. It won't take much, as anodizing is on the list of approved substrates.

I have received pricing back, its about $150-200 can for a riser and a rail. Your installer may vary. In hesitant to post the exact price because I have had so much done over the years I don't know where my pricing lies in terms of discount, if I even get one. Don't know never asked.

If you were closer I'd show you my turkey gun. Its so smooth water beads off of it like glass.

I'm very confident that this is going to work well. But hopefully by the end of April, ill be squeezed into the line and ill have a full report back.

I have one gun with a Cerakote finish and I like it. Its a lever action that sees some potential rough use in wet conditions which is why I did it in the first place. I really hadn’t considered Cerakoting the Gen 1 Micro 335 I just bought but now you got me thinking.

I am seriously considering having the factory grey mainframe and riser on my 380 blackout cerakoted with the H-146 Graphite Black this summer. Any other recommendations?

Graphite black is what my 315 is going to get later this year I hope. Its a very rich black, that when done in matte, still has tons of depth to it.
I forgot.. Lots of the hardware for my bows are already done in graphite black.

Follow up, had a good conversation with my local cerakoter. After explaining the need for a smooth and slick surface, he highly recommended the "Elite" line of cerakote. I typically go for the matte finish, but wlite is a bit glossier and is measurably slicker. I have yet to try the Elite series, so we decided to give it a go.

Ill report back when all is finished

You could posibly see a slight speed increase with the Elite coating.

Possibly. I'm this case the rail is already powdercoated for the bd380 I took it from, it was pretty smooth to start with.

Dropped off my rail and riser from my 380 blackout at the gunsmith, will be applying Elite-110q (midnight) Cerakote. Will upload pictures when I get them back and reassembled in a couple of weeks.
