Need something to reel the deer in!!!

Post by Mighty Mooser »

Out 3 times so far have had action all 3 times, but no deer offered up a shot. Big doe tonight 66 yards broadside in the clear, but would not come within Range of the Mag. I am comfortable to 50 yards, but if the doe would have kept walking my way I know I would have got her!!!

You didn't say if you are using a doe bleat or not. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. What tricks are you using?

I only used a call last night, when the doe crossed off the property I was hunting. I bleated once, and she didn't even get curious. I have both calls, but the rut has barely started here. first scrapes only out for a week!!!! abit early, or not for rattling and calling??

Are you using bait? A few apples and carrots may get them in closer. Sometimes I use doe scent(with mixed success). Fox scent seems to work well as a cover scent and works for me.
