CHRONOGRAPHS

Post by OhioXBowhunter »

Curious who’s got em ? what kind ? Which works the best with crossbows and bows. And any other input anyone has on this subject. My uncles looking to get one and I really don’t know a lot about them and I want to make sure he gets a good one so I can use it too.
Thanks for any and all input.

I'm using a "shooting chrony beta master" and it works well. Very consistent.

I'm using the Competitive Edge Dynamics chronograph with very good readings using arrows and bullets.

Son in law bought a Caldwell on sale at Cabelas. It works quite well and reasonably cheap.

I have one of these with the light kit http://www.competitionelectronics.com/product/prochrono-digital/
I also have one of these https://pact.com/products/chronographs/professional-xp/?v=47e5dceea252
The Pro Chono is great for the money but you need a light kit if you want 100% reliability (an extra $50.00)
The Pact Pro XP uses an infared sky screens that shoot into a reflective surface of the shades to be reflected back to the sky screens.
The Pact is better because your sky screens are remote from the unit. If you shoot the sky screens your out $50.00. With many other units, it's FUBARed. I shot my Shooting Chrony a few times :wtf:

I've had the ProChrono Digital for a few years, have been super happy with it. I also reload and it's been an invaluable tool for that. I use mine outdoors so I haven't needed a light kit yet...

Like some of our wise and distinguished members I also use the ProChrono which I've been happy with for the five or so years I've had it.
