Lumenoks ??????

Post by WNYBILL »

Can someone explain how Lumenoks work??? Must be the string pressure from firing turns them on. How do you turn them off? How many times can they be turned on and off? What is the battery life? Can you replace the battery? How do you practice with them?

They are pushed by the string until the wires connect inside, that powers them. You have to pull the end out a bit to turn them off. I'm not sure how long the batteries last, probably 20 - 50 hours continuous. I personally like the Ignitor Brand better, the green ones get 50 hours on the batteries, and are easy to turn off. The lighted part has the battery inside, it's a "stick" and you can get replacements. You can also remove the light stich when practice shooting.

Lumenocks use the conductivity of carbon/aluminum to complete a circuit. 50 hours on a Lumenock would be far below average...I have seen some that last for up to a week with the light on. The HD lumenocks are very bright and at 28gn they won’t drastically affect POI. For practice, I weight match my plastic nocks with a small, glued-in set screw.

Think how cool it will be to watch the arrow zip through the deer and beyond. I haven't lost an arrow since I started using lit nocks. They may be expensive, but it doesn't take long to recoup the cash after you've recovered a few arrows.

By the way, if you're bored and want to see something cool, take your bow out to a really big field at night and launch a few lit nock arrows at 45 degrees elevation. :eusa-popcorn: You won't be disappointed.
