Hawke scope with blue reticle?

Post by Tangle Eye »

I bought a used Gen 1 Micro 335 last week. The owner thought he had a Hawke XB30. Turns out it appears to be an XB1 SR. Not a huge deal to me since I have that scope on another bow and am familiar with it. The strange thing is this older scope has a blue and red reticle instead of green and red. Any idea when Hawke made this change? Just curious.

So I thought this was an XB1 SR after I looked at it. It’s a 1.5 to 5 power. The reticle is almost like my newish XB1 SR but I need to look again as I see on the Hawke website the XB1 SR reticle is very similar to the XB30 Pro. So is it possible this IS an XB30 and not an XB1 SR as I thought? It doesn’t make that much difference really I just wonder what it really is. The only way I know to tell is by the reticle (which may be different now than 4-5 years ago) and the power settings. The only thing I see now with 1.5 to 5 is the XB1 SR.

What’s the magnification levels? Mine is 1.5 to 5. The current XB30 Compact is 1.5 to 6. I may have mistaken this for an XB1 SR when its really something else.

Better yet... if the main tube is 30 mm in Dia. it's more likely some type of early XB30 ( standard 1" rings will not fit ).... If it has a 1'' diamater ? that pretty much implies its a XB1 .... #1 equals 1" dia the "30" designation denotes it has a 30 mm diameter. ( IMO, XB30's usually have superior optics when compared side by side to the XB1's as the price's of each reflect )

You’re right Gene. That fact went right by me. When I get home I’ll measure and see. If it’s a 1 inch tube then it’s an XB1. Thanks!
