"Alone in the Wilderness: a documentry of Richard Proenneke, the subject of the book One Man's Wilderness: an Alaskan Odyssey. Richard Proenneke built his own cabin in the wilderness near Twin Lakes, in what is now Lake Clark National Park & Preserve."
If you have'nt had the treat of watching this film on your local PBS station, you ought to rent it at your local shop.
I highly recommend it to all outdoorsmen.

A few years ago I picked up an old book at the local thrift store for 39 cents, It just happens to be the no longer printed journals from his first year building the cabin, etc. Great reading. I didnt know there was a documentary. I will have to see if I can get hold of the documentary. Thanks for this bit of info.
You're welcome guys. Glad I could help out.
I figured there'd be at least a couple people familiar with Dick Proenneke and his legend.
Here's a link to more info about his life in Alaska.
