Evening Bucks

Post by Shakky »

Are the chances of taking a buck better in the morning or at dusk. I have heard that more doe's are taken in the morning and more bucks in the evening. Any truth to this?

Last year, 9 point - 9:30AM still-hunting
This year, 9 point - 7:30AM still-hunting

But even after these successes, I see more deer in the evening. I just seem to be more lucky in the mornings!

I'm about 50/50 on morning and evening kills. I like morning better simply because if I stick one, I don't have to stumble aound in the dark trying to find it. On the other hand, who likes to get up at o'dark thirty? Glad I have the chance to hunt both. Not today, though. Pouring rain here again.

I dont think it is a mistake I think what RL is saying is 1 (animal) in the AM & 1 (animal) in the PM

Tried my luck this evening and saw 4 turkeys no deer. 4 turkeys trying to roost make a lot of noise. Took me awhile to figure out what was going on. When I first heard all the branches breaking I thought it was that monster buck I'm after then I saw one of the turkeys. O well at least it was entertaining.
