HELP. Matrix 380 shoots low after scope adjustment

Post by Seezer »

My Buddy bought a 380 from Cabela's this summer. Asked for my help sighting it in. Basically, we adjusted scope at 20 yards, get on target. Move to 30 yards, it's shooting low, move back into 20 yards - still low. Ok, fine. Adjust scope again. Same result, on. Then low. It is not right or left.
Scope mount is tight, checked that. Thoughts?

Here are somethings to check with initial sight in issues.

Make sure all screws including the 2 that attach the trigger to the mainframe are tight (you will have to remove the stock to get to the 2 trigger mounting screws)

Use the same arrow with the same vane pointed down each shot.

Tap on the scope adjustment caps with your knuckle after each adjustment.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, appreciate the help. I saw a good post from Aug, 2017, a lot of the same advise. We'll try in a few hours and see if we're good or not.

You say it just shoots low,not right or left? After it’s sighted at 20 did you shoot at 40yds? If not you need to do this and then adjust the speed ring up or down till your on at 40!,then all your marks will line up!

I is so simple to adjust your scope. The instructions are in the taczone box. first check all your mounting screws do not over look this step . use one arrow only ,try to pick out your best flyer. now adjust your scope at 20yds. after you have done this ,with the same arrow move back to 40yds . you will need a higher target . put a dot on the very top of the target and set your cross hairs on that dot . with the same arrow and your 20yd. cross hairs on the top dot shoot 3 times and your arrow will land low . hopefully they will all be together . now with your 20yd. cross hair held on the upper dot move your 40 yd. cross hair to the 40yd. dot . do not take your 20yd, off the top mark . you do this with your speed ring on your scope. and you will be all set . do not use the numbers on the for your settings they are just for reference. hopes this helps you good luck.

If everything is tight, and still no good, try a different scope.

Question for you guys, once you sight in this way does the twilight scope work like a rifle 3x9 or do you only use the dial for range. If you turn up the magnification and shoot 20 yards will it be off or does it matter what the number on the ring is set at? I got two deer last year but they were both very close shots. Our season isn't open yet so hopefully I'll get some more practice time. Last year was my first year with the crossbow. Thanks, Dan

The main crossbar POI will not change if you move the speed ring. All other distance shots past 20yards will be off if you move the speed ring.

Okay sounds good. I just got my C2 crank so I'll shoot some more today. The 405 gets a little bit rough on my back after a dozen or so shots. I don't have a chronograph but I'm shooting an 18" victory bolt with a brass insert and a 150grn tip. I'm not sure if I like the twilight scope or not, I'll let you guys know how it goes today and see if I'm doing it right. Thanks guys I appreciate your help and advice. Dan
