Coleman Lanterns for tracking blood

Post by Camper »

Quick question people, I have heard that a coleman lantern when used for tracking a deer at night will will turn the blood flourescent. If so does it matter if the lantern uses propane or campfuel?

Thanks

I don't know if I would call it flourescent but it sure makes the blood shine bright. I don't think there is any better light. That is all we use.

I read earlier that it's the naptha lantern.

A little off the original topic but speaking of blood trailing, a jagdterrier is so good at blood trailing that he could track a deer that had nicked himself shaving. I couldn't imagine losing any mortally wounded game with a well bred jagd on the trail.
