Hey everyone,
I'm looking into the hobby of making some flemish twist strings ( kill some time during winter months ) so I'm looking for some guidance.
I have the jig I will be using and have received some string making material's but would like more info on them.
So what I have in front of me is 2 spools of bcy 8190f and 1 spool of bcyX, also have a couple spools of #3d serving and 1 Halo in .017
Now with that being said I'm not totally NEW to string material ( I know the serving material is to thin ) but what I need to know is how many strands for the string material listed ? I'm going to be doing as said as a hobby but do plan on making a couple strings for friends but do not want to put them in harm's way, and also can I mix the 8190f and bcyX together ?
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks
- Matt

Re: String makers HELP !
I'm no expert on those materials but both are thin diameter. That said, I do use Fury which is comparable to BCY X. I use 46 strands to 48 for Micro and Matrix strings.
