Latest update from Mrs Dennis - Celia:

Update 6: 10/13 2:15pm. He is now out of ICU and moved to the cardiac floor. He still hurts and didn’t sleep last night so he wants to take a long nap and watch the Gator game through his eyelids. He just has small amount of oxygen and his heart monitor. He wants the one of the IV’s in his arm taken out- we’ll see. He still doesn’t want to talk to anyone yet, he says he’s just not up to it, but I am getting him to talk to Donna and Greg for a few minutes on the phone. He ate about half of his lunch with encouragement from Emmy, so that’s a good sign. He is way better today than yesterday and I know tomorrow will even progress more. He knows he has received several calls and dozens of texts- please don’t think he’s ignoring anyone, and know they are appreciated! I’m sure he’ll respond when he’s up to it. Thank y’all for all the prayers. God is Good - All the Time!

I sure hope Dennis pulls through with flying colors. When I had my Quad bypass done they made me get up the next day and start walking the hospital halls. I though they were trying to kill me.

Hope he recovers well, and quickly. I get winded quickly now, and that is probably the biggest issue lately. Went hunting yesterday, and it wore me out after lugging in & out all my gear with the climbing stand. Today we winterized the sprinklers, brought in all the hoses, etc. I'm beat!

Dennis, follow the rules until restrictions get loosened or you could easily over do it! Take care, and good luck to you.

Latest update from Celia:

Update 7: While he is better with breathing and walking, today hasn’t been so good. He ate breakfast but after the breathing treatment has been nauseous and only ginger ale and a cracker since. I’m hoping he will be able to eat dinner. He still doesn’t want to talk or text on the phone or receive visitors. Maybe tomorrow will be better and we can go home soon.

Post surgery is pretty tough...especially dealing with opening up the chest cavity. Time will bring things back to normalcy but we’re still keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Celia says:

Update 8: Dennis is up and at it this morning and so sassy! Cardiologist and surgeon team says he’s good to go. He will be released this morning - we are so thankful for all the prayers and God’s mercy and blessings! We can’t wait to get home and sleep 😴 💤💖

Dennis, I have worked in Open Heart for 20 years and my father had a five graft surgery so I know of what I speak. This surgery is almost routine w great survival rates. You will be back out hunting next season.
Good luck,
Tim
