Brass Inserts

I've been searching the archives for information on arrows for my Exocet. On several of them brass inserts were talked about. I'am looking at buying Laser 2 Gold Tips with 100gr. Slick Tricks. Not sure about the fletching yet, and what is the reason for the brass inserts. I'll use these just for Whitetail, so any advice would be welcome.

I believe the inserts were to add front/ rear weight to the arrow to either get proper FOC on the arrow; Or in other cases to get the arrow weight up for more Kinetic Energy. I have not heard of anyoe using them in some time.

The brass inserts are for more front end weight FOC, I use them with my Lazer II's and they came with them (GOLDTIPS) they may be purchased from Dan Miller in Ohio.
