Re: Allergies
I am brutally allergic to deer, (not the meat though, thank god). I break out into hives on contact and I get the worst sneezing fits and I get all Phlegmy. I let the butcher skin my deer, no other choice. Field dressing and the drag are about all the exposure I can handle...it’s bad.

Re: Allergies
I did some reading about this issue. Its not uncommon, the surprising part is how severe the reactions are. Sneezing, hives, rash, watery eyes, respiratory constriction. With benadryl i suffer for 24 hours with lingering yuck for another day.
Looks like field dressing gloves past the elbow, respiratory mask and eye protection helps reduce the effects.

Re: Allergies
Thank God I am not allergic to deer dander. I have heard some people are affected to various deer lures we use.
If you are affected by deer dander use the appropriate precautions and hunt on!!
I feel for anyone with any kind of allergies. I have dealt with severe Hay fever for years. Too many Sinus infections to count caused by my severe allergic reactions. Not to mention Sinus surgery and flat on my back for a long time. Now that I am much older and many, many allergy shots it is a lot better.
