Vixen, !st X-Bow Deer & Grand-daughter are beauties!

Post by YJ Hum »

Last year I started using my first crossbow, a new Vixen. This season I just got my first archery buck with a Gold Tip carbon arrow on a Wasp Boss broadhead. I couldn't get a good shot in the morning because it was standing behind a spruce. In the evening however, it presented a classic broadside shot with a pass through to both lungs. In both sightings, my mind flashed through all the scenarios and advice offered by Forum members. Making sure my limbs had no obstructions in front, measuring the horizontal distance to the shooting lanes from my 25 ft tree stand, a bolt was loaded etc...etc. Everything clicked so I can thank the Forum for the valuable information that helped make this successful! Good thing I came back early from my hunt because I made it for the arrival of my 7lb & 9 oz Grand-daughter. These are 2 events I'll always treasure!

Congratulations. I have my first grand-child due to arrive the end of Dec. I am looking forward to a great Holiday season. Now if I can secure some meat for the freezer it would be perfect.

Weather still hot in TO as you know. tomorrow they say 20 C. We will be hunting in our undies only if it is true.
