The Grizzly Matrix

Post by Ferguson Outfitters »

My favorite Excalibur is my Grizzly, using Diablo bolts, 100gr heads, regular string, and Nikon Scope. I put a piece of innertube where the stirrup bolts on.

I’ve killed hundreds of animals with it and i’m always astounded by it. Just recently had a pass through of a 425lb boar in the shoulders.

This configuration matches the ballistic circles perfectly and is accurate to 70 yards and pretty quiet.

I think sometimes we want faster when its just not needed.

Honestly l have never seen a bad shooting excalibur bow . I prefer the metal rails but plastic metal doesn't matter they all will drive tacks.my vixen 2 hangs in the garage and any skunk possum critter in the backyard gets drilled. lm getting really good holding the atomic beam on the rail for sub 30 yard shots at nite. I have become so used to it l hunted most of the early season with it with great success. I have even shot some early model vixens with the tiller all wacked out and still put a tite group. Meanwhile the rest of the world is worried about shooting a hundred yards at sonic speeds with space bows wheels n pullys....to each his own the grizz you have will last a very long time I'm sure as long as you care for it.l love the 280 to 330 fps bows

The thing is, I can afford any Excalibur even the Acog Crossbow scopes. This configuration to me is quiet enough with no other suppression than the rubber gasket, easy to recock, easy on the string and limbs, accurate, and perplexing how deadly.

I’ve shot up to two deer and four hogs in succession without spooking them from the string or recock.

The 300fps range seems to be right for me. I like the 330 or so if you use the 150gr heads, I think that combo clocked 315fps.

My daughters boyfriend just bought the Matrix Grizzly. He had enough Canadian Tire money to pay for it.. :)

I sighted it in for him and it's super accurate with the factory arrows... :)

I bought my first Excalibur in 2010 an Ibex, I’ve had seven different models since...my Vixen is the sweetest shooting of all and goes nowhere. 8)

Actually I put a piece of self stick velcro on the underside of the bolt keeper, it makes no noise when hitting the deck.

Shot another boar this afternoon.

I have the Matrix 310 which is pretty much the same as the Grizzly.
I LOVE IT!!
Have had a 330, poop brown vixen, and a 355.
The 310 is deadly accurate and has taken 4 deer in 4 years :) (I took 2 more with the 330)
The 310 is deadly accurate, fairly quiet, easy to cock, and very reliable.

I have owned and hunted with many new Excalibur crossbows.. I now shot a grizz and love it. Plenty fast. And passed through every deer and turkey I have shot at. What more could I need.
