Black Marks on Rail
I recently bought a Micro 335. I'm loving it! I noticed some black marks on the rail that appear to be from the string. Any thoughts on what the best way to remove them would be?
Thank You!

Re: Black Marks on Rail
Just crap from the serving IMO. Should just wipe off with some pressure and a wet rag. Or maybe some WD-40 or something. I use a dry lube on my rail. It's called Archoil 2400, but they don't make it any more. But it is just tungsten disulfide or "WS2" . It bonds to the metal at the molecular level and really makes things smooth. Kinda like Rain-X. Doesn't do anything for speed, but keeps junk (and black marks etc) from sticking to the rail. I use it on all my bows and guns. You can find it on line

Cotton sock turned inside so the terry cloth is outside and rub with thumb pressure , I do not want anything with a scent on my bow.

Jig a loo will clean, smooth, and slick your rail with no residual smell. I've been using it for 7 years and my rail still looks new. Only problem is Canada only.gerald strine wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 6:19 pmCotton sock turned inside so the terry cloth is outside and rub with thumb pressure , I do not want anything with a scent on my bow.

You guys are all crazy. Everyone knows rendered bear fat is what you should use on a rail.Put it on nice n thick with a small putty knife. The rail needs lots a lube like a swivel plate on a tractor trailer.

Re: Black Marks on Rail
Its not coming off with just a sock and thumb pressure or a wet rag. Any other suggestions?

Re: Black Marks on Rail
what kind of string is on there? Try some alcohol. can you scratch through it at all? obviously very carefully with an x-acto or needle or something.

Re: Black Marks on Rail
Like Boo said, Silicone spray from the "mart" on a small piece of clean old sock.. takes the black off and slicks up the whole rail... Ron

If you don't like silicone, use acetone. After flashing off, there will be zero odor.
BTW, silicone is tasteless and odorless.
