Re: OT - where did the years go
Been a while since I posted this, so I thought I'd give a little update.
He completed MCT (Marine Combat Training) on schedule and is in "A" school in Pensacola FL now.
He is trying to do well as he realizes promotions are based on performance.
He called me just after noon today (unusual time for him to call) to tell me the class had their first written test today and he scored 100%. The marines allow graduates to pick their next duty station after school based on how they rank in class (and what's available). Top person gets first pick, so he aims to finish #1 in his class.
He sent me a picture after he finished MCT, and he has put on a little more weight (muscle).
I'd say he could "fireman carry" a deer out of the woods now.
It's now so bad now, he has his phone and calls/texts daily.
Still miss having him around the house but at least we can know what's happening in his life on a daily basis.
