Bolt retention spring question

How tightly should the "bolt retention spring" hold the bolt on the rail? My Micro 335 retention spring seems very tight... The spring/arm rest about 1/8 off the rail. Thank you

Tight is good. Less chance of a semi dryfire. If my arrow retainer is not coated then I put self sealing heat shrink tubing on it and if contacts the mainframe, I'm happy. If your arrow retainer is close to the mainframe and it's bare, it will make a slapping noise when you shoot the bow.
