Renewing Outdoor Card Hunting / Fishing when turning 65

It is time to renew my Outdoor Card hunting / fishing license.
Because I turn 65 in April of the this year. Which I understand after 65 fishing license is not needed in Ontario.
Should wait until then the renew to avoid having to pay especally when I do not plan to doing any fishing until mid summer. But I do plan to hunt turkey.
I is not clear in the regulation what or how to proceed when renewing for another three years

If you aren't going to use it between now and then I'd wait.
However I don't know when it considers you 65. But this has been discussed here before, someone has dealt with this

I am not sure how it applies to today. In the past, for my dad (birthday July) we renewed the card but did not purchase the fishing license part of it, just the hunting part.

But remember, if you do this, you will not have a fishing license and only after you turn 65 will you be allowed to fish. If you plan to fish before you turn 65, you will need to purchase a fishing license, but only purchase for 1 year.

You could wait until your 65, but there is no need. One can purchase the Outdoor Card on its own for $8.57, and can, if so desired, also purchase either a 1 year or 3 year Small Game Licence at the same time. Personally, I only renew my Outdoor Card when it expires and purchase all my other licences yearly, when I need them.
