Just went to the blind today to drop 2 mini Turkey chairs off and had one on. I even sprayed lightly before going in. Definitely a deer tick was just starting to take roots on my boob . Be careful everyone.
Had a bunch a dog ticks on me the other day also .

The " Hitchhiker"

Never really noticed the little bturds until you find one crawling on or attached to various locations on your body.

We really dont have a problem with ticks in Az.
Most deer. Elk Javelina etc. Can and do carry ticks. growing up and living here 55 + yrs. We mostly have dog ticks.

This Last summer, in the N. Woods of Wisc. For 5 mo. . I got reacquainted with the hitchhiker of the woods.
Had numerous encounters on my body, nightly body checks before bedtime. A little unnerving getting settled in to sleep and feel a little bturd crawling where it shouldn't be.

Started to pay a little more attention in the woods and around the house . Found them everywhere.
See this little blk guy on a twig , leaf , ferns blade of grass etc. Just hanging out. One little arm out , just waving. Reminded me of my hitchhiking days.

We sprayed clothes etc. for the most part, but sooner or later , ones gonna get attached.

Lots of remedies for tick removal. I like the tornado. Quick easy to use.

Anyway. , I thank God. Ticks can't fly !

I almost always use Permethrin on my lower pant leg and DEET on my shocks. Last yr I sprayed the fence line with Permethrin and used tick tubes. This year I am going to use even more tick tubes and maybe Picaridin daily on my 4 dogs. Even with the DEET and Permethrin, I still find them and it is the dogs that bring them in the house.

I have used seresto collars on both my Brits. They last 8 months and work wonders, imo.

I check the dogs when they come in the cottage and any ticks that I miss are dead a few hours later.

We are using Bravecto. Works like a charm, we see the odd dead on the fur. I smile when I see one buried in the dog's skin.

I remember one fall pheasant outing years back in the early 80s l had 100 ticks on me. ...sounds like exaggeration but I'm not kidding.
After being turned on to permethrin it was very new at the time. it was a gamechanger for sure. ...l hate ticks.

If it was nor for permethrin I would not Turkey hunt anymore probably. I spray my clothes ever 4 weeks at least and have not had a tick on me for years now. I mix my own so it is very cheap to do so.

I pulled one off over a month ago after a day of coyote hunting. I didn’t worry about them when I was much younger, but after having Lyme disease 2X, and reading about the new tick borne diseases . . . Bad, bad juju.

I use the Seresto collars too. They work fine but if you read the label they say they are effective for 8 months on fleas but only 4 months on ticks.
