cover pictures of Excalibur web page

Post by hunter with MS »

Has anyone looked at the cover picture of the web site /page there is a hunter with a excal crossbow over his shoulder with an arrow loaded . I don't know about you but I think that is not safe . Most courses stress not to do this as bad things can happen I was taught to load the arrow when the crossbow or firearm is in your hands and you are hunting . This can sending the wrong message to the new hunters. The ad says is your dealer closed ? Who was not thinking on that one !

I agree, the last thing I do after I got everything organized in my stand is put an arrow in my bow,
then it's time to hunt !!!!!!!!

I load the bow outside my door and still hunt to my stand. Treat it just like firearm...no problem!

I do that to but I don't put the loaded crossbow over my shoulder . If I am hunting with it it is in my hands in front of me where I have control and can see what is going on . Over the shoulder loaded is asking for trouble what if the safety does not work and you hook the trigger on to something and it fires the arrow could go into your head or someone behind or around you I don't trust the safety 100 percent just like a firearm . I once watched a show where the hunters did that I wrote them and pointed that out they looked at it and replied back I was right .

Really good eyes. Glad you pointed this out. I wouldn’t think carrying a loaded c/w bolt in place to be. Wise move unless still hunting.

I just am aware and notice things like that and try to correct it if I can . Thanks Peter I know it is the company that put the ad pictures together and chances are they really have no clue or idea that it is not the way things with crossbows are done . All they know the picture looks good and shows someone hunting with a crossbow .

I load the crossbow when hunting but never while carrying on my back, but I’m subject to forget things from time to time, looks like a good way to lose a $17 bolt and broad head
