My slice of Heaven could be over!

Post by Riflemanz » Mon May 18, 2020 6:37 pm

I drove to my hunting land this past weekend and saw that the city is putting a road thru the middle of it turning it into a industrial park. The landowner told me last year that this could be my last year hunting. I should of taken down my stand after the hunt but didn’t and it’s history now. Here is a pic. I’ll talk to the landowner in August to see if I can still hunt. I’m sure the deer will adjust

What a bummer, of course roads don't stop deer. They go where they want to

Might have a shorter distance to drag or pack out your deer!

Sorry for that been there. ...call me l can give you tips on sneaking in peoples backyards undetected and how your wife can drop you off to hunt a large interstate jughandle. I told my story of walking a big buck down the road in a giant waste management wheeled trash can with a broom ....no one even noticed me.....there's always somewhere to hunt !

That sucks nothing worse than losing a favorite hunting spot I lost one years ago when a friend sold his land for an interstate to go through he sold it for a good price before the state forced him to sell it at market value. He ended up buying more land just further out. It’s not too hard getting permission to bow hunt around here.

Pick an ideal tree for a treestand, place it and get the city to put a deer crossing sign so the deer will cross 30-40 yards from your stand.

Ok, the secret’s out! I don’t know about other states, but Arkansas deer can read signs and generally obey.
