End of a perfect day

Post by W.Miguire » Wed May 20, 2020 11:20 pm

After two days of steady rain and harsh winds it finally calm down here on the island. today started my third and last week of turkey hunting . Got all set up for the morning hunt. so 3,30 the alarm goes off get dress and off I go. got in the blind set up and waited 3 hours go by and nothing then in the far field about 2/3 s of a mile away I saw 3 birds how they herd my calls I don't know. they may have seen my motion struter any way they where a long way away. they came a runnen and came in about 7 or 8 yds I let the magnus bullhead go wack and down he went. the other 2 didn't stick around they took off. picked up my bird and could not find my lucky arrow, this is my sixed one with that arrow . so I waited for dark and guess what we found it with the lumenock . yes the end of a perfect day .

I know what you are talking about Joe , heres what I try this time a year . For long distance I use the loudest call I have ( wet willy by NH ) and a horse shoe nail call for close up , for me it works the best. they can hear better than you think. I really like the horse shoe nail call the best.
