Temperature and POI

Post by CT.HNTR »

Will temperature change my POI?

If I am shooting dead on at 40 yards on a June day with 70 degree temperatures can I assume my POI at 40 yards will be the same if it is 28 degrees in November?

Unlike a shotgun shooting sabots or a rifle you will not see a dramatic difference.
If you gain say 10 fps because its colder it is minor
A crossbow does not have a barrel to shrink and change like a rifle or get dirty that's the major good part.
At 40 yard distance wind is a bigger enemy than the temperature
Accuracy is very personal my goal is to hit a cigarette pack object at 30 yards that's good enough for me with a crossbow its really not that hard.
Some who shoot 100 yards get really anal they have to be .
