ProShot ACP Dissapointment!!! Corrected!!!

Post by Shoebuck »

After much reading and asking for input on custom triggers, I decided to buy the ProShot. Well, after not very many shots I noticed grooves and fraying of my serving. This string has been a super string from DeerBoy Archery and has been on the bow since last Nov., so I thought I needed to replace it and start over. Installed new string and today shot a half doz. shots and I already have grooves and fraying. the grooves are on both sides and the fraying is on the right Post of the forks. Something this expensive should not be a work in progress. I guess I need advise on polishing the forks. Any help will appreciated. Thx, Dave

That's solid advice from Norm, call Excal and they will take care of you. The latches on my TT's gave me fits, latch issues on the ACP are few and far between, but can exist.

Start an RMA to send the trigger unit back. They do have a solid solution for you. Both my 440 and 360 suffered from the same affliction.

The only thing better than the Excalibur warranty is the Excalibur forum.

Excalibur decides to upgrade their triggers...So why didn't they polish the claws? Mine isn't ?
That has always been a problem for the servings.

Most times the ACP latches do not require polishing due to the method used to manufacture them, compared to the standard trigger. However, if one does slip through the cracks, that's why all the recommendations above are to contact Excalibur, as one doesn't need to polish the new triggers.

My new Assassin 420TD.
They should be polished after all these years of complaints.
I have 2 Trigger Techs highly polished right from the factory. I thought for once I wouldn't have to replace the trigger again on an Excalibur due to damaged servings.

How many shots are you getting from your ACP before your serving is worn? And what exactly is it doing to your serving?

Triggers were sent back to Excalibur for repair, received them yesterday and they are excellent. Both break better than before, and after 8 to 10 shots each show no serving damage. Huge thumbs up to Peter at Excalibur and the Excalibur Warranty center. Many thanks to all on the forum.

The forks did not come polished. I did some polishing before I installed trigger. I have now shot 30 plus shots between the two bows and only see a slight cupping in the serving. Both triggers break very crisp with no creep. They did a good job.
