DOES AN ADDITIONAL INCH MATTER?

Post by amythntr »

.....no not that :eusa-naughty: ....

.....just wondering if there is any real difference between 2" and 3" vanes....

.....I know people have their favorites but is there any emperical evidence of one over the other?

I think it depends on the bow and its speed. For example I wouldn't shoot feathers on the speed demons out there now but on a vixen or a 175lb crossbow I would.
Everything else I use 2 inch.
Keep in mind some vanes are thinner than others also.

I shoot a lot of 2" and 3" vanes out of the same bows and I see no POI differences in them. I am shooting from 325 to 435 fps.

Mostly mechanicals ( Hypodermics) but I do occasionally shoot G5 Montecs. No difference in POI with them either.
