Sorry, I mean down wind. You want the scent to be blowing toward you, not away! This is an easy mistake many people make using scents, they think it will cover their scent, but a deer's nose is much better than that! I jumped on here while I was at the gun range waiting for some yahoo to figure out how to keep his target from tipping over, pretty comical really.

I thought that sounded odd. But assumed thats what you meant.

So when the deer get down wind of the decoy , they are still up wind from me.

Ordered some fresh ever calm.
They have some new stuff i had not seen before. Ya-know that stuff i have may be 3 or 4 years old. I lose track.

Any of you guys try there VS 1?
I tryed some James vally one year but no luck with it. Probably bad days or my fault some how. I know they are highly recommended.

I do beleave in the ever calm tho.
Tinks 69 use to work well back in the day.
But i think a guy has better odds with some of the coustom stuff if that's the right word.

I tried it twice, first time I used it I walked in about 100 yard circle around my stand, yes I was turned around that morning.
Anyway about day break two bucks came in grunting and pawing the ground like they were going to fight, I’m trying to get in position for a shot, and they took off. Don’t know what spooked them, next time, nothing. It was late December though.
I like James Valley scents, and use sometimes with Evercalm.

Check these decoys out https://deerdecoy.org/

Easy to carry and set up.
I’ve killed two nice bucks using his Buck decoy.

So easy to set up, very light, durable, can spray descenter
on them all season long, and effective. I hose them off real good before I put them away after the season ends.

Thanks Bill
I looked at thoes and they are pretty cool.

I watched the video before i read anything and i thought how in the heck does that thing follow you as you walk around it, i watched it 2 or 3 times.

Then i seen how its made .

Pretty innovative. But simple i wonder what made him think of that.

Both were recomended on here, But i went with the Montana dream team, i have had a few PM conversations on them. Which lead me to chose these for looks and easy portability .

You can see them better than expected the only bad spot is directly in front of or behind. I did get the add on tail, it also works better than Expected. Goes in place by 2 magnets , and it will move with a slight breeze. You can also set up dreamy doe as a bedded doe. (Seen a clip on this)

They do grab your get your atteniton .
And I have also seen on a couple youtube clips of a buck trying to mount the doe decoy.

I also think the Montana archers plot pack would do very well.
For under $250 you could have all 4 deer with a bunch of different set up options.

Sorry for the long reply but i thought it may help someone else that is trying to decide on a decoy set up.
