Changing limbs on an Exomax?

Post by Kuffs »

Hi guys, I picked up an older Exomax recently and I noticed some of the paint was peeling on the inside of the limbs. I also know from the past when I had my Exocet many years ago I dry fired it and the same thing had happened. Now I know the guy that sold it to me And he promises he never dry fired it. The bow had very little use And has been left unstrung with the dissipater pads still on it for at least 4-5 years. Is it possible that the camo paint could just be flaking off because of that or is it definitely a dry fire? I have looked closely with the magnifying glass and aside from the paint the limbs do look fine. I have put the string on and caulked it and released it a few times with the caulking eight but have not fired it yet. Would you guys use it as it is or buy a new limbs?

I have seen dry fires cause limb splinters but not paint peeling. I would think that age did that and the limbs are fine.
