Scopes

Post by UPSMAN »

I need to replace the dead zone scope on an Excalibur Axe. I haven't hunted in a few years. What's everyone's go to scope? I need something with multiple aimpoints and preferably illuminated. Let's hear it.

I have a Twilight Deluxe on one of my Axes and it's a nice scope. Google Wyvern take off scope or call Dave if your looking for a good deal. He usually has a few different scopes available.
Take care

I don't know how much you are willing to spend but my go to now is a Sig Sauer BDX 2.5-8x32 scope an a 1400 Kilo Rangefinder that I bought from Cameraland for $450 shipped. You can preset up to 8 aiming points at any distances you want them or let the RF tell your scope the distance and put in an aiming point for you. You can dial 2.5 to 8 power without any change in your POI also.

For multiple aiming points I would go with the Tact 100. Or a Vortex crossfire II crossbow scope they seem to get great reviews

Do you need their rangefinder to set those 8 dots?

Here's the link to the scope on the Sig website. It looks somewhat promising, but I'd like to know if the electronics/battery goes down what is the outcome. In most situations we would use a crossbow in (hunting and target shooting close to the house and close to a store to get more batteries) the benefits of the this probably outweigh any potential faults. The only other question I have is with only 80 moa travel, it seems like it may limit your range to 60 yards with a slow bow unless the magnification is turned down?

Nope you don't. The scope will work well all by itself.

If you batteries went out on your scope you would just be looking at a normal rifle scope with a single crosshair. Kentucky windage time until you install a new battery.

I use a Bolt and bought two P3’s for $48 each on clearance from Academy. Best thing going next to the ACOG Crossbow
