Bow hanger for your cross bow in treestand

Post by Owl Creek »

What kind of bow hanger in your treestand? sometimes you just need a place to put it while you get stuff from your pack, put on or take off a jacket.
I bought a universal one that you put the limb in, its ok but you can knock it out. I have put it in the seat, it works but not ideal.

I am making my own, I think it will work really good.
What are you guys using?

I like Hawk. They seem well made to me.

I have one like that by third hand archery ..love that thing.

I am talking about something to hold your crossbow that mounts to your stand. so its safe, accessible
and out of the way when not in your hands.

Bonus points if there's one that doesn't screw into trees ( an enforced no no on PA public lands )

It will mount to your stand. Should work perfectly on a climber, probably a ladder stand. Not for a hang on stand tho.

I have part of it done. The rest of my material should be here today.

Here is my bow hanger in my #1 ladder stand!

Cheap and effective... :)

It's on my right side and ready to go at a moments notice!

What about adding a tether to the stand so it doesn't go down. Jim stuff is the best, I won't climb without his stabilizers now

I thought about that also and it would be simple to do. hoping this thing will be so good it wont need it. Yes the stabilizer straps are worth their weight in gold. and you could not ask for a better guy to deal with.

I wrap a piece of number 10 solid wire around the tree. I twist the ends together and bend a hook in the end. Very cheap and works fine.

I use a contraption too but I have a piece of para cord tied on to the stock and the tree in the event it comes loose the crossbow won’t fall.
