Nice doe this morning

Post by ODH »

Image
I went to a spot that I scouted on tuesday on the same farm I killed my buck. There was a heavy frost on the ground. First time climbing this tree. At about 9:00 the shivers started setting in as the frost was burning off. At 9:10 I looked to the north and caught some movement and could see legs coming my way. Two adult doe & 2 fawns were heading to me from the right. I barely had time to stand and turn but I got away with it. They hung up at 30yds preening & eating. The button buck came right past me at 15yds. Finally this doe came in to 15yds & I was on her. I took the shot and she ran 35yds & went down. Third deer this year with the trusty Banshee. The freezer is now full and couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the congrats guys. Robert I hit her behind the left shoulder and the exit is out the front of the right shoulder. You are looking at the exit side. The wound is tough to see as she was on her feet for about 5 seconds after I hit her and no blood came out of her. She also must have dropped on the shot as the exit & entrance are on the same level even though I was up 15 feet.
