Tree Stands??

Post by longshot »

Just wondering what tree stand everyone uses for hunting with the crossbow? I just ordered a Tree-Lounge. I had a loggy, but it was getting really old and unsafe.

I use a hang on stand on a piece of private property I hunt on, but I'am getting ready to buy a Summit climber in the few weeks. I'd like to have the Lone Wolf climber because I've heard great things about them, but $$$$ so I'll use the Summit.

I use a River's Edge Gator grip climber . It's a very comfortable tree stand but it's awkward to carry in the bush and it weighs 30 lbs. It would be a good stand to install on private property. It's not the type you can put on your back and go due to the awkwardness and the weight.

I use 15 foot ladder stands and 1 riversedge gator. They had a great deal on the ladder stands at the Bass pro shop in Virgina 59USD. I bought 4 of them. Wow did I get a ear full from the wife but when she saw how much they go for up here she was more forgiving.

I use a Warren & Sweat aluminum "master climber". It weighs about 17#, and it's a bar type climber. Not real big and spacious but super easy to set up for quick ambushes!

Here's a picture of RJ climbing down in his. He has customized his with a backrest, etc. You climb facing the tree and you can sit facing or back to the tree, whatever the setup dictates. The stand as purchased has no backrest.

I use a Lone Wolf ALPHA Hand Climber. It works great. I also have an Ol' Man but like the way the Lone Wolf packs.
I am planning on getting a Chippewa Wedge Loc soon.
