South Carolina 11 Pointer

Yesterday afternoon was the last hunt for me this year and I really wanted to get a kill with my little Vixen. About 4:45 this guy came in very cautiously... I thought he was going to stop and give me a nice 20 yard shot but he decided to get across the food plot in a hurry,,, Just at the edge he slowed to a walk and I let the Lumen Arrow fly. The Rocket Steelhead hit him a little too far back but just good enough to get the back of the lungs... he made it about 100 yards with a pretty good blood trail but fell dead down a heck of a steep embankment. I had to field dress him to make it out.

Total arrow weight on my set up is 440 grains out of the Vixen and the little Steelhead shot though him, breaking ribs on both sides, and hardly ever slowed down. I really hate Rocket stopped making these, but the Sidewinder is very nice broadhead as well.

Good luck with the rest of your deer season guys!!

Congrats on the fine eating buck! I agree on the Sidewinder. With the wide limb bows, the Sidewinder was my go to broadhead. I also liked the Hammerhead. Put fresh bands on them each season and they will serve you very well.

Thanks guys!!

I'll give y'all my favorite recipe... which, by the way, will be going down this Saturday. (This is awesome with wild turkey breasts as well)

Cube the backstraps up and marinate overnight in:

1 cup of soy sauce
1 cup of Sprite
1/2 cup of vegetable oil

Wrap each piece with a 1/2 strip of bacon and put on kabobs with mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, and fresh pineapple.

Cook over some hot Kingsford...

Didn't anybody tell you that slow bow won't kill a deer? Lol

Congrats on some fine table fair!!
