2020- So what did you buy?

Post by janesy » Thu Dec 24, 2020 10:12 pm

So now that the 2020 dumpster fire is coming to a close,
What did you buy? what was your best or worst toy purchase this year? It was a banner year for many categories, so I know lots of good stuff got bought.

I'll start, I got this a couple weeks ago. Remington V3 Survivalist. Paid way way too much, but hey it's a limited quantity 18" 12g semi with a legal pistol grip, full size stock, X's sight system, all the best upgrades done from factory. Even comes with a scabbord and a machete for whatever good reason you need those things! Company up here sold out for 6 months, had three stashed away for black Friday, at $100 over price. Some sale, but there is a sucker born every... Wait what?

18" pistol grip semi?? Hell's Ya, that's got 2020 written all over it.

Nice nothing like a shotgun you can have your ar15
. Someone in a bullet proof vest is a tough target in the head with an ar15 but a buckshot blast to the head gets them good.....just saying!

I've had my hands on the V3 with a pistol grip. I bet that thing is fun to shoot. My V3 is my favorite shotgun for waterfowl hunting. In Harrisburg I handled on in Mossy Oak Bottomland that I'd love to have, but alas I'm not sure any actually made their way to market before production stopped.

As for toys, I had my eyes on a side-by-side most of the year, then decided on something a little more practical. Since September I've put about 8000 miles on this 10-year-old >300hp "side-by-side". It helped that the original owner put <$3k miles on it in 7 years.

We've gotten way more use out of this one than an actual side-by-side. It sure makes the commute a lot more fun.

Couple new pellet rifles, pellet pistols, scopes, bipods ect through the year and 10's of thousands of pellets. Six months of lockdown shooting 10 to 12 hours a day adds up. Go through allot of printer ink as well. Some people play video games, some of us do the real thing. :) CHEERS!

Had a customer give me this in close to mint condition, Township of Toronto Centennial Confederation 1867 - 1967 Winchester Cooney semi auto .22 rimfire. Said he bought it new and has never shot it. Either way it is a nice gift. Gun was sold in 1967 as a limited run special order for $135.CAN They also did an Alaska Centennial the same year in which they produced 1000. They do not say how many Toronto Centennial guns produced.

Very cool, what's engraved in the palm? I've got my dad's old cooey 600(I think) with the rabbit in the stock. It's not mint, but it will be one day. It would be similar vintage, still in its original box with the sales tag.

Nice, I was looking for a V3 then a Versamax popped up, then a couple days letter the V3 surfaced. So I have both now. Going to turn the VMax tactical into a turkey gun, but In my opinion the V3 is better in many was aside from all the stainless components the VMAX has

Glad to hear the V3 is holding up well

2020:
Bought the wife an Axiom SMF
Found the brother a killer deal on a Micro 355
Bought a rail and riser to finish Dad's custom Micro 340
Built a 6mm ARC, my first ever AR
Sold wife's Axiom SMF
Bought Marcel's BD400

More active than I've been in the prior 10 years combined :)

And 2021 I'll be saving up for this: https://notawheelchair.com/

For the places I hunt it'll be more than capable and it's 1/2 to 1/4 the price of the tracked chairs or 4wd electric bikes that are out there.
