Arrow saws

Post by OhioXBowhunter »

Arrow saws who’s got em, what kind? Likes/dislikes any other advice. I’m looking to get one and I’m only seeing two brands out there Weston and a brand called X spot with all the arrow builders out there you’d think there would be more to choose from. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

I use a Proxxon KG50 for my arrows. Works great for me.

I was using a harbour frieght chop saw with a fiber blade, it worked great, as long as you have a good arrow squaring tool and patience.

Recently I was gifted an APPLE arrow saw it was a complete game changer. Incredibly accurate, no squaring required although I do anyway, and FAST.

Lol....my arrow saw is over 35 years old .l used it for countless dozens of years when l had the arrow making buisness and now it gets used on friends arrows and my bolts a couple times of year.
Best advice is to just don't chince out and but a junky one get a good one that cuts square use it and if you ever don't want it put it in the classifieds and it will be gone in a day....its a no loose purchase
Your probably looking at almost 200 bucks for a quality one.
Not really that bad when most of us have well over a thousand bucks wrapped up in our crossbows.
The best part is you are not dependent on a pro shop cutting them.

Yep, the key is to set the blade depth just enough to cut the thickness of the wall. Then you have to rotate the arrow on bearing blocks, or in a V-Groove, or V-Block to keep it square as you cut the perimeter. Some use it like a chop saw, No Bueno! :eusa-naughty: :eusa-naughty:

Weston for me. Make sure you get one with a vacuum attachment and get a diamond blade for it.
