Thunderhead 'O' Rings

Post by CT.HNTR »

Last year I purchased some 85 grain Thunderheads and was very pleased that they hit the same holes as my field points and they seem very very sharp. My question is why do they have 'O' rings and what is the purpose of the 'O' rings?

If someone can shed some light on this it would be appreciated?

I have a fear that if I hit bone or go through a scapula the 'O' rings will let the blades come loose and separate from the head. Is this a valid concern or is it something I need not worry about?

I am a big fans of the Thunderheads and have used them for many years. Now granted, I haven't shot a lot of deer lately but have never had an issue with that broadhead. I don't believe you need to worry about the o ring.

The O- ring goes under the washer to allow slight adjustment of alignment. Those heads always worked well for me.

With the O ring below the collar ( which secures the blades) never had any issues with blades coming loose.

Once broadhead istightened to shaft/ insert. I see no way It'd interfere with anything.
