I bought my Exomax in 2006. As my luck would have it, they came out with the Equinox the following year (2007). If I had waited another year, I would have certainly preferred the Equinox stock.

I believe the Equinox was discontinued in 2014 after a few Matrix models were available.

The old Exo series are great shooting bows. I killed my largest archery buck with my Exomax before passing it down to my daughter who did the same thing. It still works fine to this day with stock arrows and the TactZone scope.

My cheatsheet shows Equinox was introduced 2007 and discontinued 2014.

Bringing up this oldie with a question about the Equinox. From pics I’ve seen apparently some came with a grey rail and some with a camo rail, was there a choice? Did one version come before the other? Any other differences?

The first 2-3 years of production they had the grey rail. Then camo was added for the remaining years. At the time it was the flagship bow and may have been the first Excalibur model with a camo rail. I don't think there were any other differences other than the camo. Someone else can chime in if there were other differences. There are quite a few that are still using them as their primary bow.

My Exomax is my primary crossbow. Reliable, easy on the string, bullet proof limbs, simple DIY maintenance, and not picky about arrows.

While sitting in my tree stand reading about compound crossbow issues I feel I definitely made the right crossbow decision. I know I should be looking for deer and stay off the phone!!
