Altho I am often honour that we are named after the best bacon...It's interesting that in America the term Canadian Bacon didn't even come from Canada, nor did the meat. Europeans importing bacon from Canada (before it was Canada), educated Americans how they preserve and transport pork across the ocean back to the Brits. Which was to brine the loin and roll it in peameal. By the time America adopted this treasure, the Europeans had started telling the Americans how the newly named Canadians had been shipping pork home to Britain forever... And the Americans happily named the method of preserving it "Canadian Bacon"

Which is why nobody else calls it Canadian Bacon.

Now if you'd excuse me I have to ride my skidoo to close the ice door on my igloo before the polar bears wake up hahaha!

Nice! Last year I ground bear meat for burgers and I ground a slice of thick bacon straight into the mix for a 1 pound package. It really makes for a good burger with the bacon mixed right in

A friend processed his own deer and in the ground meat he mixes 15-18% bacon ends and pieces. Calls it bacon burger, natch, pretty good stuff

Hey Paul... that's basically the same way I make mine. I go to a local butcher shop and buy what we call "bacon scraps", I then add that to the deer meat and grind away. Makes pretty tasty stuff. I do the same with sausage and jerky.
One can NEVER have too much Bacon!!

Not only did Chris's wife buy the best bacon but also allowed him to buy and bring to bear camp the most organized hunting 12 ft travel trailer I have ever seen in my life.

The black flies may fire up sooner rather than later this bear season compared to the last 2 years .
We found no snow up in Temagami Ontario while setting out barrel baits this year.
Compared to years past no snow this year was welcome but the thought of earlier black flies is not so welcome.
