First for the Mag 340 and Innerloc 150 grain

Post by XB I GO »

Well I finally got to hunt our new property and killed two twin hogs with the Mag340 using new Innerloc 150 grain 3 blade expandables. The hogs were a little over 20 yards and I was elevated a few feet. Both were pass-throughs using BEZS with 110 grain insert and lighted nock. One thing I noticed on both was that the broadhead blades seem to have expanded unequally, probably due to the angle. On both hogs, the cut going in has the bottom most blade on impact not cutting fully. The other two cuts are twice as long. Overall, the Mag 340 and these bolts and broadheads did a pretty good job. The tracking was easy due to lots of blood, but both went around 50 yards before going down.

I will post a picture a little later, its not working right now.

Congratulations on the property and the kill!
An angle will definitely make the cut uneven. I guess you could also be looking at the blades bending. Bottom line is that a 50 yard death run isn't very far!
