Should I buy a $300 Exocet 200?

Post by Max-4 »

Hello, I am a casual bow hunter and I might get out a few times a year for deer. 10 years ago I bought a brand new Exocet 200 with the S5 system, cheek rest and upgraded Lumi-zone scope. I really liked this bow and I got my first bear with it 8 years ago. I stupidly sold it and got a compound bow thinking I wanted to get into compound bow hunting. I never really got out much with it and didn't put the time into practice either with 2 young kids.

I have an opportunity to buy a mint condition Exocet 200 with vari zone scope, quiver, 4 bolts, cocking aid and an excalibur t-form padded case for $300 Canadian. Would you pull the trigger on this?

I do really appreciate the newer matrix and micro series bows but don't really want to spend $800 to $1000 on a bow I'll only use a few times a year. We were killing deer 10 years ago with the "old exo" series bows, deer still don't know the difference, do they??? Thanks

I would buy it in a second and wouldn't regret it one bit.

I would be putting another hook on the wall if offered that deal. According to my wife that hook would be in my new apartment!
Take care

Time to pull the trigger on that one!!

Those are still in demand. They usually don't last long when offered for sale.

Ok, it's an overwhelming "YES" to the Exocet 200. While I wouldn't mind a newer Matrix or Micro, I remember tree stand hunting with my old Exocet 200 and didn't mind it at all. I live in Kitchener/Waterloo so Excaliburs were built right down the road from me. I'm looking forward to the older bows durability and ease of use. Thanks alot, I'll take some pics when I get my hands on it. Cheers

Thanks for all of your help, I picked up the bow last night and took a good look over it this morning. Everything on the bow looks great, the only thing I can find is the tiniest bit of camo rub off on one limb tip maybe 1cm x 1/2 cm. Other that this the bow looks brand new! This is the older Exocet 200 before the lines on the stock so this is not drilled and tapped for a cheek piece. (BUMMER)?

It came with everything in the pics, I just have to go but a de-stringing aid and some more Firebolts. For $300 I don't think I could go too far wrong, looking forward to getting a deer hopefully this fall! Thanks again

That is a bow that will give you a life time of dependable service and was a good buy,
I have herd of guys using the foam pipe insulation for a cheek rest and 2 sided tape.
If in the future you decide to get a micro or matrix be sure to keep this bow as you will regret selling it and not having it as a back up.
Their are countless members that wish they still owned their long limb bows after selling them.

Great deal.

I was on gun post today and seen this one!

It's actually an Exocet not an Eclipse. And This would be 300% more than what it originally sold for new!! Lol

Jeff, you’re right, that is not an Eclipse. An Eclipse is all black. That is certainly much older than an Eclipse. The riser is a mismatch too! I bet it had a cast riser when it was born.
