....have shot my AXE/MAG 340 for TPR of NJ and the GRZ2 for NY,

....have planted a few food plots on our hunting property in NYS and

....pictures are being sent back to our phones from our 9 Cuddeback Cameras set up at the property.....

Other than the above I do not feel that at all ready.....we have some nice six pointers and a bunch of other bucks and a lot of doe.....the deer appear to be hitting the food plots....

.....I really do not believe that we will be ready until next year when we put up permanent tree stand.....make more and better food plots AND demo the old cabin and out houses.....

.....this will be a feeling out year for us upstate.....unfortunately NYS does not allow a CB until later in the archery season, so i will be feeling my way in TPR of NJ woods.

Ready or not, we'll all get by. Although time is fleeting, I'm sure when the time comes, we'll all do what it takes to address the issue.

I pretty much stay ready and my ladder stand and blind are set up and ready to hunt. I am about to go out and load up my deer cart, deer hoist and climbing stand in my truck where they will reside until deer season closes. I still need to spray down my clothes with permethrine but that will wait until tomorrow to do as our season opens Saturday. My bows stay ready to go year round.

I spent the day yesterday cutting the brush that blocked access to my two tripod stands, then cleared up some shooting lanes, installed pipe insulation on the shooting rails then zip tied the camo tarps (that hide about 3/4 of the deer's view) to the shooting rails. I also put the seat back into one of my stands.

The last time I shot one of my crossbows was last October when I killed my second deer. I'll wax my string this weekend, put a new broadhead and lighted nock on one arrow, re-sharpen a few other broadheads then take a few shots at 20 and 30 yards. I'll then be ready to go hunting when the bell rings on Wednesday morning. I just wish it wasn't so damned hot!

I am almost ready Don.

Bows are ready along with bolts and broadheads. Everything is dialed in at the right yardages.

Three new stands hung over the last four weeks and the last new stand is getting hung this weekend. I should be ready to go by next week and I start hunting on October 2nd.
