Ideas for tree stand camo
Was thinking if some ideas to use natural and local branches to help hide you when you are in your stand.
Poked around the aisles at work and thought maybe a couple pipe stays fastened to the stand in strategic location could be usefully to hold fresh cut branches help break your siloette. I think I'm going to give it a try

Nice. Post z pic when it's done...
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

I cut ceder branches and just hang them by their own limbs
works great, I hang them on my shooting rail and from other limbs on the trees around me.

I also cut fresh evergreen and place them strategically around my ladder stand seat.
I use black cable ties…very light and very strong and very invisible.

I love the giant cable ties from harbor freight. Sometimes l cut whole saplings and wire tie the to ladder .
If you do it right you can't identify it as a ladder.
I usually wrap a ladderstand with burlap strips tied in knots also.
When done correctly you are up in a little nest at even 12 feet deer never see you.
I do not believe you have to be 20 feet up to not be seen by a deer if you don't smell bad and mask scent with doe p you can get away with murder in a well camouflaged ladder or fixed stand only 12 feet that hides your silhouette. On a hang on drape branches hanging down from platform.
Not only good for deer but keeps A -holio theives eyes away as good

Forgot to mention I'm mounting these to my climber. As I trim branches on the way up or from neighbouring trees I can put the branches through the stays and they can be re used as additional camo.

Just funning with you Chris, I’m bored to death. Hot and humid, can’t do diddly outside. There are some folks here that don’t have a sense of humor, I don’t comment much on their posts.
We need the season to get here! I would get light and dark brown spray paint of a good quality and get them painted.

We've got nice weather here finally this year. Not that blazing hot is a problem. Just not my thing.xcaliber wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 10:56 amJust funning with you Chris, I’m bored to death. I'm bored here too. Got an interesting problem tho, I sighed up for a new gun deer camp, first week of November, archery is Oct 1. Normally now I'm out and setting Ll.kinds off gear in the field. But with the new camp, and being a "one and done" deer area. I can't show up to deer camp without a tag. But I really really want to hunt October archery.

Re: Ideas for tree stand camo
It wouldn't work with your climber, but I zip tie camo tarps over the tubular pipe insulation I put on the shooting rails of my tripod stands. I have to double the tarps over to cut the downward drop length down, and I add grommets to make them fit well. From the ground (the deer's view), 2/3 - 3/4 of me is completely concealed. The tarps also block some wind, a good thing if it ever gets cold.
