Nice work Norm.

The old saying you get what you pay for definitely applies to arrows.

You can buy factory fletched arrows at a lowe cost.

But you end up culling some because they won't hold tight groups..

The fetchings usually come off and inserts pull out in your targets.

There are numerous companies producing fletching and VaneTec is my choice. VT vanes are US manufactured in Oregon . This handshake fletching company provides a quality, well performing vane and a reasonable cost.

I don't know why my photos show up sideways :eusa-think:
Anyway, for you guys building your own arrows clean is clean. Shafts get squeaky cleaned using Acetone and fletching gets a Q tip soaked with Acetone wipe before gluing.

DON'T use that old beyond expiry glue in your drawer unless you like cursing yourself asking why is there always time to do it twice and never enough time to do it right the first time.

Use new Gorilla Super Glue either in the twin micro use design or the 20 gram available almost everywhere reasonably priced.
In my hobby Vibra Tite 362 is used for fletching and VT 310 used for inserts mainly because of the shock absorbing rubberized additive.

I'll put my order in before the next Boofest. What stuck out the most about your post was the word, "retirement". Congrats, you'll love it. Just hope you don't drive Patti out of her mind.

Cool. Always nice to have hobbies to stay busy. :)

At 60 years old with glasses I will never be a competitive Archer so I don't take to much care with my arrows anymore. As long as they are not flyers I am happy. :)
