They're made with the synthetic rail, I had an Ibex which is basically the same with a thunmbhole stock, ZERO issues, and very accurate, easy to rope cock. Get a good Flemish String on it, and hunt with it for many years!

Some older models have a metal rail .l prefer the metal but no worries as dan said that bow Is bullet proof.
Check out the older death by bungie videos on YouTube. It's all focused on that model.
Vixen 2, metal ibex,Phoenix, sapphire, matrix 330 ,matrix 355 ,vortex and baby grand piano y25 relayer.

My first crossbow was an Axiom SMF. I killed at least one deer with it every year that I used it. It puts arrows through deer with pinpoint accuracy. I didn't need to replace it but I just couldn't pass up the deal that was available on my SE 350. I now have one aluminum rail Excal and one synthetic rail Excal. They are identical in quality and accuracy. An Axiom in good condition will serve you well.

It will make for a great back up bow, you'll know it will work.
