Sorry for what happened and glad that you are home and healing. I don't know when Indiana's season ends, but I hope you are well enough to get in a couple of hunts before it closes. Our bow season goes until Jan. 15, so if your season closes earlier, come to Missouri and shoot one of our deer.

Spooky thing that caused all of this.
Lucky you / they caught it when they did!

Heal well my Friend!

Glad to hear you will be finishing your recovery at home Dan. Hard to relax in a noisy hospital. We'll continue to pray for your rapid recovery.
Take care and rest up

Don I would have never known this happens like that, and certainly now I understand concussion protocol in sports. I used to ride my motorcycle without a helmet and think I was really lucky considering I had a pretty bad wreck once. Anyway, I’ll be protecting my noggin much better going forward, and working smarter. My best take away from this is to slow down a bit and take every head injury very seriously.

Folks, I hope this does not scare anyone, or offend them. This is the cuts required to do the surgery, the hole on top of my head is for the blood drain.

Tough to look at,Dan.

If I ever need to have that done, I'm going to seize the opportunity. I'm going to let him take out some of my blood, but I'm going to make him pump in some brains.

Hey Dan , My brother in law had similar surgery and 9.5" of staples added on Sept 1st/21. The good news is that the scar has not been noticeable over the last 2 weeks. One would never know he had skull surgery today.
Cheers!
