What ever happened to the North American Hunting Club?
Many years ago, 03/98 to be exact, I became a life member of the NAHC. Got some neat gifts over the years, but it all came to a stop several years ago.
Anyone have an explanation, or guess as to what happened to this group? I think it was run by a guy named Bill Miller?
I still remember my member number...it was 198913.

Don’t know but I’m also a lifetime member. They used to sponsor hunts, have great giveaways and a section near the end of their magazine where you could trade hunting and fishing adventures. Sad to see it go!

Re: What ever happened to the North American Hunting Club?
I recall getting all of the mailers. I did a little digging and they no longer exist.
In 2013, the group that ran NAHC and a lot of other clubs obtained Scout.com and became Scout Media. Scout Media went bankrupt in 2016. The remnants were acquired by CBS Sports Digital in 2017.
I'd guess that means any benefits you were ever getting from NAHC ended in 2016 if not before.

Yes... Dan I remember that!
Back in the 90's I was breeding and training German Short-haired Pointers. I use to advertise my pups there.
And yes Sir, you could trade and/or barter hunts with other members.
Sad to see it fold.

I don't know but it could be because they sent out so many stickers and little gifts n trinkets that they went belly up....seems like every other month they would pester the living heck outta you.
The only thing that riveled them was the American fishing club...go figure.
I'm gonna text dan and see if he remembers the Columbia tape n record club ...buy any 10 8 tracks for a penny each and have you mom beat your a$$ with the yardstick for the hundred dollar charge on her credit card the next month.
Maby mom made me leary of anything in the mail!
One time l joined a posh fitness club for fifty bucks a year.....you guys guess what happened the next week ......they packed up in literally one nite like a carnival the only work out l got was looking thru the cardboard in the windows.

I remember the record companies bugging the heck out of people. Never did that gig though.

I was a life member of NAHC also. They just died of old age I guess. There one day and gone the next.

I was a life member too. Even tested some equipment a time or 2, but I don't even remember what it was. Haha. I liked the mag and probably have the jacket somewhere.

I tested a knife and if I remember correctly, a sleeping bag. Still got the knife, and the Life Member leather coat.
But nope...no 8 track tapes and no records!!

I used to get a lot of fishing and hunting magazines but it seems like literally every one is say 75 % adds and no content even b.a.s.s and NRA are mostly adds and no content and 3/4 thickness as in yesteryear. I assume youtube is kicking their butts.

As a kid I started getting Field and Stream mostly to read The Last Laugh with Patrick F McManus. When he switched to Outdoor Life, I did too. Loved his articles and even have 4 or 5 of his books. "A Fine and Pleasant Misery" is autographed, I think.
