So, those knives are illegal, that's why they can't be imported? I guess the next phase will be to charge every one in Canada who now has a folding knife in his possession. I guess that the Buck 110 Hunter that I gave to my son when he was 9 years old has to go to the smelter.

That is, unless the police and prosecution have a different opinion than Border Services. When you think of it though, they should be following the same set of rules on what is illegal. (Sarcasm)

Just sent parts in two shipments to Canada. Nothing they can do about it.

You Canadians seem not to be trusted with most anything. My God stand up to these servants of yours.

The sad thing aging is there is proof of Chinese interference in the last election, and we still have these imbeciles in office. And we are to trust the next election will be fair?

Most are willing to hold off till next election, and most will be shocked when Libs get in again.

This is nothing new. The whole issue regarding "centrifugal" knives started with a Canadian International Trade Tribunal decision back in 2018. There was a third party challenge forcing the CBSA to define what a centrifugal knife is and this was the result (lesson learned? Be careful what you ask for). Maybe they're stepping up enforcement, or such was the opinion of one phone rep.
This is not an outright ban on folding knives in Canada. The CBSA controls the international flow of trade goods, that's it. They don't define what is legal or illegal to own, carry or even sell in Canada. They have there own governing bodies and make their own interpretations of laws and how they apply to the importation of trade goods. I'm not saying there's no need for some concern but the implication that the guy in this video makes in saying any folding knife can be opened with a sharp flick when partially opened is ridiculous.

Not really new. I had a Benchmade griptilian grabbed at the border 20 years ago. Same wording was used then, when I went to Pearson to apeal it.

I used to carry the smallest Swiss army knife with me at all times (tiny knife blade, file with screwdriver tip scissors, toothpick and tweezers). it came in handy on numerous occasions but would not make much of a weapon. After losing three of them to metal detectors (one in my toiletries kit in a carry on bag, and one each at baseball and hockey games) I quit carrying them. The little knife was useful on many occasions but I guess the public was too threatened to allow people to carry one. In reality, the knife was sharp and could inflict a serious wound, but you couldn't hijack a jet with it as your weapon. I don't know where you draw the line, but common sense has to come into the equation somewhere.

The USA has the same problem with fraudulent elections mainly coming from mail in ballots. Anytime someone want to do something about it the left cries voter suppression. All they need to do is have a two day election holiday and voter iD but it is always ended with cries of voter suppression. The Dem's will win every election from here out. The only real solution is a revolution which today's citizens have no stomach for. Give it a year or two and we will be a Marxist socialist country. SAD! NEVER give up your right to defend yourself.

Grouse, they never use logic. If they did use their logic they would declare cars illegal because they kill to. It certainly is not the driver. (Sarcasm)
